I Walked All The Way To The Top Of The Glacier and All I Got Was This Stupid Shirt!!!!

Ok so actually our hike didn't go all the way to the top of the glacier and come to think of it...we didn't get shirts...anyway...we walked on the glacier today at Jostedalen(might have spelled that wrong). To be honest it was actually exceedingly enjoyable..and I promise we are all still alive and doing quite well!!! In reality it was actually more difficult to get to the glacier than actually walking on it. The girls (both American and Norwegian) would be exceedingly disapointed in me if I didn't at least mention our highly attractive and talented tour guide on this glacier hike...to be quite honest this trip is showing me that I am getting old...and I kind of tend to be the awkward 'cool' parent at most functions. Oh well it will make teaching that much easier!! After walking on the glacier we headed back to Luster and took the coldest swim of our lives in the longest fjord in the world!! For real the water temperature of the fjord is generally somewhere in the low 50's(yes that's farenheit!!) range. Needless to say we didn't spend a whole lot of time in the water before we rushed back home to take hot showers!! For supper tonight we were all invited to go to Sigrid's home in Hafslo.(Sigrid stayed with Chelsey Spaeth and her family through this program in 2006) We enjoyed tacos while having some very interesting conversations! All in all it was another wonderful day!!! So....sadly(ok not too sadly) this will be (most likely) the last blog of our trip. We are heading for Oslo tomorrow and I am not sure what the internet situation will be for the next few days, so this is the last blog, although I do plan to do at least one more when we are all safely back in the states on Wednesday! Speaking of...dear parents of ours...our plane is currently scheduled to land at approx. 8:02pm on Wednesday the 5th of August so I would say meet us at the airport a little bit before 8:00 as our flight to MN (on departure) got to the airport early.
