I Walked All The Way To The Top Of The Glacier and All I Got Was This Stupid Shirt!!!!
Ok so actually our hike didn't go all the way to the top of the glacier and come to think of it...we didn't get shirts...anyway...we walked on the glacier today at Jostedalen(might have spelled that wrong). To be honest it was actually exceedingly enjoyable..and I promise we are all still alive and doing quite well!!! In reality it was actually more difficult to get to the glacier than actually walking on it. The girls (both American and Norwegian) would be exceedingly disapointed in me if I didn't at least mention our highly attractive and talented tour guide on this glacier hike...to be quite honest this trip is showing me that I am getting old...and I kind of tend to be the awkward 'cool' parent at most functions. Oh well it will make teaching that much easier!! After walking on the glacier we headed back to Luster and took the coldest swim of our lives in the longest fjord in the world!! For real the water temperature of the fjord is generally somewhere in the low 50's(yes that's farenheit!!) range. Needless to say we didn't spend a whole lot of time in the water before we rushed back home to take hot showers!! For supper tonight we were all invited to go to Sigrid's home in Hafslo.(Sigrid stayed with Chelsey Spaeth and her family through this program in 2006) We enjoyed tacos while having some very interesting conversations! All in all it was another wonderful day!!! So....sadly(ok not too sadly) this will be (most likely) the last blog of our trip. We are heading for Oslo tomorrow and I am not sure what the internet situation will be for the next few days, so this is the last blog, although I do plan to do at least one more when we are all safely back in the states on Wednesday! Speaking of...dear parents of ours...our plane is currently scheduled to land at approx. 8:02pm on Wednesday the 5th of August so I would say meet us at the airport a little bit before 8:00 as our flight to MN (on departure) got to the airport early. Well, goodbye for now then and we look forward to seeing you Wednesday night! Vi snakkes:)

Cheers...
Today Marit's father gave us a tour of the power plant near Gaupne. It was very interesting. The plant is located inside a mountain so we were able to touch the inside of the mountain at certain points. After the power plant we spent some time at a cabin playing games and making tomato soup. We were also able to take in a concert at the restaurante near the glacier. The band was surprisingly good and it was a lot of fun to dance and listen to music!! Tomorrow we will be heading to the glacier early in the morning...we are walking on the glacier...don't get to worried, we will make sure that everyone makes it back safely:) It will certainly be an experience!!!

We also ended up watching a couple of movies and just spent time hanging out together. We had a marvelous evening and will be spending most of tomorrow together as well...tune in next time when we tell you about our travels to the glacier...thanks for watching, this is KD signing off.

It's A Small World After All!!!!
So... today we visit Lom...which was fabulous!!! We had lunch in a very cute little restaurante. We even tried...reindeer steak which surprisingly we found to taste pretty darn good. After lunch and visiting a rock shop we were headed to the ice cream cafe to get something else to eat when in front of us on the sidewalk we spotted a family of tourists looking at their surroundings. On further inspection Kiernan and I realized that the family was in fact the Solverson's (aka Jenny\sam\tracy,etc.)in Lom in Norway...really now:) To say the least we were highly surpirsed to see them there and we chatted for quite a while. Gotta love small town world? It was rather enjoyable\amusing to see them interact with our Norwegian hosts! After chatting for about a half an hour we finally got our ice cream...Gotta love Norway!
